1929 March 9 / night / N.Y. Times—10-24-7 / Isidore Fink, 30 years old, rear room of the Fifth Avenue Laundry, of which he was the proprietor—4 East 132nd Street, New York. A woman, who heard screams are sounds of blows, [but] no shots fired, notified the police. Doors and windows were locked. Policeman Albert Kattenborn got in by lifting a boy through the transom. Fink on the floor, two bullets in chest, and one in left hand. Money in cash register and in his pocket not taken. Fink had evidently been doing some ironing. A hot iron was on a gas stove. No pistol found. Boy unlocked the door inside. / 11-27-5 / Bullet wound in chest. Theory of police that Fink had been shot outside, and had got back to his room, locking it. But the iron on fire. / Other that inasmuch as a hinge on transom broken, murder in that way.
